MUSIC — Instrumental Score

Coordinate Category: Instrumental Score, Thematic Motifs & Musical Cues
Status: Specialized Auditory Coordinate

1. Purpose & Functional Role

[MUSIC] commands non-diegetic musical score, instrumental cues, rhythmic motifs, and tonal shifts that guide the emotional pacing of a scene.

2. Formatting & Syntax Rules

  • Header / Tag: [MUSIC] on its own Sub-State within the Macro-State chain.
  • Description Style: Describe instrument type, tempo, mood, and harmonic texture:
    • [MUSIC] Dry staccato harpsichord plucks opening theme
    • [MUSIC] Low resonant cello drone swells beneath the silence
    • [MUSIC] Distant melancholy piano melody slowly fades

3. Placement in Macro-States

Place [MUSIC] at the exact moment in the timeline where the score enters, swells, or shifts in tone: [CAM 01] WS, slow push-in -> [MUSIC] Distant melancholy piano melody begins -> [ACT] Rosa turns toward the dark lake

4. Static Bed vs. Dynamic Cues

  • Static Background Music: If the entire scene shares a single unchanging music bed, place it once in [AESTHETIC] (e.g., Sound: Low constant synth pad).
  • Dynamic Cues: Use the [MUSIC] Sub-State in [EXECUTION] when the score begins, cuts out, or shifts dynamics synchronously with an action.

5. Interaction with Syntax Modules

When the Seedance 2.5 Syntax Module is active, [MUSIC] is expressed directly inside parentheses (music description): (Distant piano melody) (Refer to modules/seedance25_syntax.md).
