VFX — Visual Effects

Coordinate Category: Visual Effects, Particle Physics & Optical Phenomena
Status: Visual Effects Coordinate

1. Purpose & Functional Role

[VFX] directs artificial visual effects, glowing or magical phenomena, particle simulations, energy discharges, and optical distortions occurring in real-time within the shot.

2. Formatting & Syntax Rules

  • Header / Tag: [VFX] on its own Sub-State in the Macro-State chain.
  • Description Style: Detail color, luminosity, shape, velocity, and interaction with the physical world:
    • [VFX] The creature's jaw splits into three sections, exposing bioluminescent turquoise teeth
    • [VFX] Shockwave of bright amber sparks detonates outward, scorching nearby branches
    • [VFX] Dust particles in light shaft flare with faint golden luminescence

3. Physical Grounding Principle

[VFX] cues must always have a physical origin and anchor in the physical geometry of the scene: - Origin: An open palm, an ancient runic altar, a creature’s eye socket, or a flashlight lens. - Interaction: Reflecting light onto character faces, casting shadows, or kicking up physical dust/debris.

4. Placement in Macro-States

Place [VFX] synchronously with the character action or creature motion that produces it: [CAM] CU -> [ACT] Rosa screams upward -> [VFX] Translucent skull-head flaring with pulsing turquoise light -> [AUDIO] Deep underwater screech
